ARROZ VALENCIANA RECIPE


INGREDIENTS:


3cups Glutinous Rice (malagkit)

2 cups Pork or chicken sliced

1 cup pork, beef or chicken liver, sliced into small cubes

2 pieces Chinese sausage, sliced

1 large red bell peppers, sliced into small cubes

1 cup Green Peas

2 small boxes Raisins

2 pcs. onion, minced

4 cloves garlic, minced

salt and ground pepper to taste 

2 pcs. chicken bouillon/broth cubes (optional)

1 tablespoon turmeric powder or fresh 

4 pcs. hard-boiled eggs, peeled and sliced

Spring onions

Oil

Water


INSTRUCTIONS:


Wash glutinous rice twice and drain water. In a rice cooker or pot, add washed rice then add 2 and ½ cups water (or depending on the variety of rice you have).

Add and dissolved turmeric powder and 1 broth cube in the pot with rice. This will give the rice a flavour. Start cooking it just like cooking regular rice. Once cooked, set aside.

In a large pan, brown pork or chicken in its own oil then saute-in garlic and onions until fragrant.

Add liver, Chinese sausage, red bell pepper, green peas and raisins. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Once the meat are cooked, add it to the cooked malagkit rice and combine it well.

Continue cooking over low heat for about 5 minutes then remove it from heat. Sprinkle with chopped spring onions.

Serve and garnish with sliced boiled eggs on top.
